President Obama's Tribal Summit

Our President met with 386 Tribal Leaders today. He devoted some personal time to honor his word, something that all people need to try to do more often, and has made the Native Americans a Priority in his administration. I think it's about damn time. My grandmother was a wonderful woman, and she was a Native American as well. She was shuffled around from health center to health center for care, like an object or an animal, in her last years. When she was a young girl she was Forced to attend a Native School,this was in 1924, and was beaten for using ANY of her native tongue. The American government, and sadly some American citizens have looked down on the Native people for far to long. They are the ones that have endured more mistreatment than any other people, in my opinion, in the USA. I hope that President Obama makes these "priorities" much stronger and in a way that they will outlive his own life. Here's a link to the MSNBC Story.

American Competition!

I thought this was a good commercial for the Public Option. I have dealt with several insurance companies in the past and they are all a disgrace to the American Spirit. I've had insurance that wouldn't cover an EMERGENCY ROOM visit until I proved that it was NOT planned. I've had one insurance try to deny coverage for my birth because I didn't deliver on my due date, haha! I have also had the bare bones minimum coverage one BIG company offers, and then had the top of the line coverage they offer (we changed jobs) and the difference between the minimum plan and the premium plus plan was horrible. I cannot imagine how a company could offer coverage to SOME and not ALL that pay for their services :( I hope that the Divine Powers helps this change in Government and way we look at fellow Americans happens soon. I want to know that everyone can get to see the doctor and not worry about money. I want that to happen today, or tomorrow- but before Yule :)

These amazing women give me hope for the future, and hope that when I become a grandmother there is still so much I can do to help the children of tomorrow :)

Redskins Blanket

My wonderful hubby has been asking for a Crocheted Redskins Blanket since he was 10 years old, so that's 12years lol. We've been married for 8 almost 9 and I have finally started a Redskins Blanket for him. He originally wanted just a team color blanket- but I found a Graph pattern that had much more than the colors! So here it is :) It's not done- there will be the Indian Warrior Head above the letters....but I'm not yet there!

WIPS- or Works In Progress

I've been so bad lately :( I haven't blogged here in over a month! I feel just terrible that I haven't taken the time to write even a small post here and there! I've made a few changes to my blog....

I've added a Donate button- and all money goes to our family and our situation. I really appreciate those of you that feel so kind to donate money to my family- and I promise to use any donation for my Children and will document it here as to what any donations were used for. Right now, I'm trying to get toys on sale early for Christmas, because we are not going to be able to afford many Christmas presents this year.

I have also changed the link to my "hopeful" Spiritual Parenting Group. I was using Meetup.com as the site for my group, but WOW the cost to maintain that group are absolutely ridiculous! I have since switched to Ning.com and it's a free site, so anyone wanting to start a group of any kind should check out http://ning.com because they really rock!

I am also going to be posting many more pic's of my Crochet work, and putting up a Pay Pal button giving anyone the option to purchase any of my crochet dolls, blankets, doilies and whatever else I create. Please be aware though that all items are made to order and will take time to create- but I will keep prices VERY low as to only cover cost and shipping.

NY Wrong Way Driver

I wanted to write a blog about the mom in New York that drove the wrong way on the freeway, causing a wreck and killing herself, her 3 nieces and 3 other men, as well as injuring her son. There are reports that Diane Schuler, 36yrs old was drunk on Vodka and high on marijuana, or at least the active ingredient THC of marijuana while she was driving. I don't know if that's true or not. I do know that there are lots of hurt families right now who all want answers. I know that a little boy will never see his mother again, and his aunt will never see her babies ever either. There is no happy to this story, and all the pain and anguish these people feel is so sad :( I hope that the living can make sense of what happened and move on in some way.

I don't want to debate what happened, or weather or not she was under the influence or not. I simply want to send my love out to all the family and friends of ALL the people that died or were injured by this horrible crash :( I know all to well the pain of car crashes, and I am thinking of you all. Peace be with you, may you find a way out of this tragedy.

Rest in Peace, all those involved in the NY Wrong Way Crash :(

Lifetime Movie

I Love watching Lifetime movies. I watch my TV online, but now that Lifetime movies are online it's awesome! They have posted "Not Like Everyone Else" about a teen girl that's discriminated against because she wants to learn about Wicca and other wiccan beliefs- for purposes of her stories that she's writing. She's a budding Stepthen King. I really like this movie, it's very scary that in this day and age that society tollerates modern day "Witch Hunts" but the sad fact is that it does happen, and it happens More than most people accept.

Here is the MOVIE I REALLY hope you blog readers out there watch this movie. Because it's a movie we NEED to watch, and discuss. Stupidity and Ignorance is a contagious disease. Please take the steps to stop the spread of these diseases.
